The Wizard of Brows

I have a love/hate relationship with my brows. In middle school I really wanted to have blonde hair, and I felt my brows held me back. They've always been black. This was a big hardship for me in 1994. Thusly I plucked them until an inch of their existence. It was terrible. Especially the part about the Sun In. But that's a tale for another day.
Over the years I'd let them grow back then pluck them again in a sad cycle of eyebrow shame. Now of course I wish I'd left them alone because I love having dark brows now. I somehow got off center over the years and it wasn't until 3 years ago I decided I'd try to let them grow in and be naturally symmetrical without tweezervention. That wish is a decade late and a dollar short for poor righty, which hasn't really ever made it back to center. So I used the Benefit Babe Cake eyeliner to color in the missing pieces. It worked satisfactory-ish enough.

Then I shattered it right after we moved to Texas. And its discontinued. Weh-wahh. Then I tried using black eyeshadow for way too long. It wasn't beautiful. I lived in denial because I didn't want to talk to any makeup people about my eyebrow. I'm afraid of hearing how it won't ever grow in and the last 3 years have been for naught. And I can't be hearing that negativity, people. I have to keep the hope alive.
I was talking to my beauty expert coresident about eyebrow products and Anastasia came up.
Y'all.

Where have I been? This stuff is amaze. I picked up the Brow Wiz in Brunette this afternoon. I hunted it down like Dog Chapman after a skeezy pre-convict. I finally found it at Nordstrom's, where I generally find all things glorious. This was not before a girl at Ulta tried to sell me on a second choice because they were out. Just as an aside - I cannot even begin to believe this poor child put her makeup on in front of a mirror with any amount of visible light. Like hell I was going to take her advice.
Anywho, I love this so far. The color blends well and it fills in the sad little eyebrow sparseness beautifully. I want to try the tinted brow gel too, but I used all of the other available beauty dollars I had buying the last two Lancome Artliners in Aubergine at Sephora because supposedly this color is discontinued. Although, I just checked the website and this doesn't seem to be the case. Curse you Lancome counter girl at Neiman Marcus! May your foundation highlight your unfortunate pores! Ugh. Just another reason I never need to walk in that department store again. Well, I'm going to do more research on that, and mayhaps I'll return one of those eyeliners and try the gel, I'll let you know how it goes. All in all, this promise of symmetry is all I need for now.
Have a beautiful week girlfriends!

    1. Elizabeth! I have a pre-occupation with brows as well. I have a GREAT nars eyeshadow that does the trick. Its a NARS "duo" the first color is a matte dark (but not too dark) brown, with warm undertones that will work nicely with your coloring. The other color is black and I use it for eyeliner so it's basically the best ever. Have I mentioned that it hasn't run out and I've had it for a year? Have it? HAVE I?! I love it. Just apply with a fine slant-edged brush an voila, perfection!
